What We Value

We strongly believe that God loves our praise and worship of Him. His Word encourages us to worship in Spirit and in Truth. We believe that to mean we are to freely express ourselves to Him in singing, with instruments, with freedom of expression from hearts focused on Him. John 4:23, 24; Psalm 150; Eph. 5:19

We strongly believe that prayer is our foundation for developing an intimate relationship with God and therefore we not only petition Him for our needs, but we develop the ability to hear His voice of love and direction. James 5:16; John 10:27

We strongly believe that God’s word, the Bible, is our source of spiritual daily food that we want to meditate on often. We want to teach and speak from the writings that are inspired of God with the force of His spirit enabling us to speak truth. Psalm 119:105; Hebrews 4:12

We strongly believe that God has given to His church the gifts of His Holy Spirit as spoken of in 1 Cor. 12 & 14. These gifts are for empowerment for intensified service. These gifts are bestowed on individuals supernaturally by the Holy Spirit. Each gift is a visible activity of the Holy Spirit, is under conscious control by the individual and is empowering, not overpowering. We believe in the need for self control and for keeping an orderly, edifying manner in corporate services. We are particularly drawn to the gift of prophecy which the Bible describes as the “Testimony of Jesus” (Rev. 19:10), but endeavor to seek a balance of gift activity. Acts 1:8; Mark 16:17, 18

We strongly believe that we as the church are called by Jesus to speak of the good news to those wanting to hear, to see the broken experience healing, to those kept captive by life’s calamities set free and for the unseeing to see. Is. 61:1

We strongly believe that an inescapable fact fills the Scriptures: God has ordained that every believer realize the significance of their mission and ministry as His servants. Gender is no restriction intended to limit significance or breadth of dimension in living for or serving Christ. Gal. 3:28; Acts 2:17, 18

We strongly believe that according to 1 Cor. 14:26, the things of the Holy Spirit are intended for every member of the Body of Christ, not an elite few. Rom. 12:5

We strongly believe in the familial relationship each believer is to have with each other and to nurture these relationships in love, commitment and honesty. Matt. 22:37-39; John 13: 34, 35

We strongly believe to live is to give—in tithes, offerings, and all life’s resources. We steward what we have been given of time, gifts, and finances, seeing these as being from God’s hand, yet as ours to obediently distribute. We believe that the method ordained of God for the support and spread of His cause is by giving of tithes and free-will offerings. Mal. 3: 8-12; Luke 6:38; Prov. 11: 24, 25: 2 Cor. 9:6-12

We strongly believe that our place in God’s present order inextricably links us with the Jews as a people and thereby the land of Israel according to Word. This belief is not about politics but about the Word of God…but the political ramifications are extremely dramatic. We therefore stand with Israel in prayer and watchfulness. Psalm 122:6; Gen. 12:3

We strongly believe that God has promised us as Connect Church family of believers, that we are going to experience “a new wind, a new move, a new sound and a new generation”. We look forward to what this will mean to us and others, in God’s timing. Mal. 4:5, 6; Acts 2: 17

We strongly believe Christ gave the ministry offices of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers for the nurture and equipping of His church, not for hierarchical control or ecclesiastical competition. Eph. 4:11, 12
